Many products and home treatments claim that using ear drops can restore hearing. These drops often contain ingredients such as:
Hydrogen peroxide: Softens earwax.
Olive oil or garlic oil: Supposedly have antimicrobial properties.
Herbal extracts: Marketed for their supposed medicinal properties.
DOES IT WORK?
For earwax buildup: Some drops (such as over-the-counter earwax softeners) can help dissolve earwax and improve hearing if the problem is caused by congestion. However, improper use can push earwax deeper into the ear or cause irritation.
For inner ear infections or damage: Ear drops alone are unlikely to resolve issues such as infections, nerve damage, or structural problems in the ear.
